Our academy programme gives offers an opportunity to step into the world of management consulting offering you a real opportunity to grow & develop a range of important interpersonal skills.

Our graduates & school leavers are independent thinkers who look for opportunities, love challenges and believe what they do matters. To apply, you’ll need a real interest in business and a desire to make an impact – and you don’t need to be a recent school leaver to join the programme – anyone without a degree who has a passion for business can apply.

What kind of work will you be doing?

We will provide a structured training programme that will lead to a range of interesting careers in Consulting ranging from Solution Selling to Delivery.

The main focus of your role will be identifying opportunities for business development.

We will provide you with all the skills to sell complex consulting & resourcing solutions, build market maps, research & delivery.

Simon Cook – Founding Partner


Loughborough University graduate with a degree in Economics with French. Simon started his career in 2001 with one of the largest UK based privately owned recruitment businesses and helped them achieve significant growth during his 8yrs service. He established and grew a highly profitable business change & transformation search practice in 2003 and has never looked back. Simon has established business change & transformation practices for 3 other recruitment businesses and has built an enviable network that contains some of the most experienced change leaders in the country.

Simon created boxchange in 2012 and has successfully helped a number of FTSE & SME organisations build diverse change practices through introducing the very best & known talent from his network

Mark Murray – Consulting Partner


Mark has more than 20 years of experience in strategic change delivery, capability and assurance, within a diverse range of industries. He has worked and consulted with SMEs to global blue chip organisations, in 11 different countries, where he attained a reputation for delivering complex business and IT transformation. His career has seen him hold CxO roles and holds extensive experience of working at director and board level. His diligence and passion serve as a leading catalyst for positive and lasting change, infusing organisations with customer-centric processes and skilled service minded staff as a top priority. Having spent many years as an IT professional, as well as holding a university degree in Applied Computing (Northumbria, Newcastle), he is fully conversant in business and IT change delivery alike. Mark joined boxchange in 2015 to facilitate and expedite its ambitious growth as a provider of value driven consulting.

Richard Stupple – Partner


Richard’s career has been spent primarily working with international companies in B2B environments. Engaged in senior leadership roles he has built a reputation for achieving significant organic business growth through new product development and creative solutions that deliver tangible results. In the field of consulting Richard has extensive experience of working at board level in all types of organisations from SMEs to Fortune 500 companies. A consummate professional, with an ability to adapt the approach and style to fit any industry and environment. His specialities include: Culture change, business transformation, Leadership development, International business management, sales management and development, mentoring, coaching, and strategic planning. With a passion for designing bespoke client solutions that produce tangible results, Richard joined boxchange in 2015 to help accelerate its ambitious growth as a provider of value driven consulting.

Chris Sloan – Partner


An experienced recruitment professional with over 20 years in the business working for large multinational and smaller boutique recruiting firms. During this time Chris has performed a variety of roles covering Business Development, Account Management up to Sales and Operations Director level, managing multi-site teams across the UK.Chris has been heavily involved in the provision of resource at all levels from IT support up to Exec Director Level into numerous large blue chip clients as well as many SME clients.

Chris has extensive experience of the full recruitment process spectrum covering lead generation, relationship building, tender/bid creation, presentations and commercial negotiations through to responsibility for client delivery management. Joined in 2015 to help grow and develop the boxchange recruitment service portfolio across multiple industry sectors.

Mike Ashton – Business Development Director


After graduating from Gloucestershire University, Mike started his career with one of the largest recruitment companies in the North West. After 10 years in the manufacturing and engineering sector with many significant National Account wins and after attaining a number of senior roles within the business Mike moved out of recruitment and into the Ad Agency world working with some of the most prestigious and recognisable brands in the UK as an Account Director. Finally the last five years have seen him work for a boutique consultancy within the Financial Services space, assisting with significant change and transformation programmes and more recently senior hires. Mike has spent the last 15 years selling at “C” level to blue chip organisations throughout the UK and has now joined boxchange to drive the business development of their consultancy offering.

FAQ

1I need a work permit to work in the UK. Can I apply to Boxchange’sAcademy Programmes?
No you cannot apply. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the role and the requirement to meet the minimum salary level set by the Home Office to meet the minimum salary level we would not be able to sponsor a work permit.
2Do Boxchange accept speculative CVs ?
Boxchange doesn’t accept speculative CVs for the apprenticeship programme. To apply for any position, please select the appropriate programme here.
3What salary do you offer apprentices?
We offer £12-16,000 per annum pro rata. You will also receive a work laptop and phone - depending on your job role.
4If I am unsuccessful, when can I reapply?
If you are unsuccessful at any stage of the process, you can reapply 12 months after your initial application.
5My grades fall short of the minimum academic criteria, but I have mitigating circumstances. What should I do?
Any mitigating circumstances will be considered on a case-by-case basis by the recruitment team and business unit involved. A mitigating circumstance is a valid reason why you didn’t get the grades you would ordinarily have achieved.

7Can you explain what to expect during the application process?
If we want to proceed with your application, we’ll invite you to take an online test (you can choose a time to suit you). If you pass this test, we’ll get in touch to arrange a telephone interview. Next, we may invite you to an assessment centre, with group exercises, an interview and an aptitude test.

After the assessment centre, we’ll telephone you – either to discuss your job offer if your application has succeeded or else to provide feedback.
8How long is the academy programme?
The Academy programme lasts 12 months in total. As well as working on the day to day delivery of Boxchange client projects, you will undertake work based learning and classroom based teaching; giving you a good foundation and entry point into your career in consulting.
9What help will you give me to get started on the programme?
We invest heavily in the development of all of our apprentices, beginning with an intensive training programme at our head office.
10What happens after I have accepted my offer?
After you have accepted your offer we will need to collect certain information from you and you will be asked for this by the onboarding team. You will need to fill out forms with your personal information (eg. name, address etc) and also send us your bank details so that we can get you registered onto pay roll. We will also ask you to gives us details for references. You will also be asked to send copies of documents to prove your identity (usually drivers licence or passport), national insurance documents. This may sounds like a lot but do not worry – the team will be with you at every step of the process and will be on hand to answer any questions that you have. It is important that you get these sent to the team as soon as possible however as it can delay the process to get you started for day one.
